Technology Introduction
The AssayMAP® Cartridge
A Platform for a Wide Array of Chemistries
Versatile, Precise Liquid Handling
Probe syringe technology
The AssayMAP system, by design, offers flexible liquid handling options that are adaptable to application needs and available equipment. It is the most direct route to high throughput assays, while maintaining state of the art accuracy and precision. In the case with the AssayMAP MAb Titer Kit, this is achieved through use of the AssayMAP cartridges in a spin column format, with liquid handling provided by a handheld micropipet or standard robotic systems. Other applications require the precise flow rate control provided by the AssayMAP Workstation, equipped with patent-pending probe syringe technology. AssayMAP Workstations equipped with 12 probe syringe channels are currently available and a 96-channel system is under development.
Features of the AssayMAP probe syringe technology include:
- Ultra-low dead volume fluid connection to the cartridge bed,
- Automatic connections and disconnections managed by the robotic liquid handling head
- Positive displacement, high precision flow control from <1 to 6000 µL/min
- Pressure capability to 20 bar (300 psi)
- Probes can aspirate and dispense directly through the needle and can mount conventional micropipet tips
- 9 mm spacing provides SBS/ANSI-compatibility with arrays of up to 96 channels
- Syringe design enables highly efficient washing while minimizing air entrapment
